There will also be competitions and activities for the kids.
Ever heard of a video game festival? Well we Have and there will be one in Nottingham in the coming weeks, The Game City Expo. To simplify, it will be a three day expo of everything Video games. It is a celebration of games culture and will showcase some of the blockbuster games that are on the way to shops near you soon! Microsoft, EA, Atari and many more over the years have contributed to this exhibition over the years. Oh and did we mention that since it began in 2006 they have broken two world records?
If your around Birmingham and have some spare time why not check out the “Home of Metal” ? A celebration of Heavy Metal music which famously originated in Birmingham. The Home of Metal aims to bring people together to share their passion and explore themes of Heavy Metal through exhibitions, film screenings, live events, a conference and family friendly activities. They are also collecting photographs for an online gallery. Make sure to submit any rocktastic photos you have!
We’re still not sure where to spend the coming August bank holiday weekend. With so much happening around the country it’s so tough to decide which Premier Apartments to visit.
My son is really into motorbikes and since he heard about the Customizing, Culture and Harley – Davidson exhibition in Manchester he’s been desperate for us to visit. which aims to highlight a magnificent display of historic Harley Davidson Motorcycles. The exhibition includes Harley Davidson motor cycles from each decade of the previous 100 years as well as many others included in the line up. Also included will be unique creations from many of the worlds top international customisers. Since Premier Apartments Manchester General Manager Lesell mentioned Stand Up Sunday at the Comedy Store I’ve been looking for an excuse to return to the city. The world famous venue and has helped launched the career of many top class comedians and I love the idea of seeing fresh talent and up and coming names.
I had hoped to visit Liverpool where the Overtures are playing a spectacular tribute act in honour of the most famous group in the world but Premier Apartments are already booked! The Overtures have been regarded as the best in their league at playing 60s music and I reckon they are one of, if not the best tribute act in the country! They have played private parties for both Sir Paul and Sir Elton (at his wedding!). They beautifully recreate the sounds of the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Kinks, The Byrds, The Who and many more. Also in Liverpool, Fun Loving Criminals will be headlining The Free Music Festival, joined by the likes of Lemar, Encore and X-Factor stars such as Rachel Adeedeji , Daniel DeBourg and Laura White. The free studded music festival should be great for all the family. Fun Loving Criminals will be taking the stage immediately after their performance at V Festival alongside such acts as Eminem, Rihanna and Arctic Monkeys. If you’re lucky enough to be going hope you have a great time.
There are just a few remaining apartments with some great Birmingham special offers available. I know my daughter is desperate to visit The Smith & Pepper jewellery-manufacturing firm which recently became a museum telling the story of the Jewellery Quarter and Birmingham’s renowned metalworking heritage. As part of the exhibition there will be a great deal of live demonstrations of traditional jewellery-making skills so as visitors can get first-hand experience of what it was like to work in a noisy and busy workshop back in the day!

During August the streets will come alive for the The Birmingham Carnival! An exciting biennial event which last took place in 2009 and is now due to return to the city again. Mainly due to popular demand it will be returning to its home in Handsworth Park where it all began in 1984. This is such a great day out and should truly not be missed as there is entertainment for all ages from 1 – 100.
