Premier Apartments have joined the Green Business Tourism Scheme to demonstrate our commitment to being a environmentally sustainable business.
Green Tourism week will take place between the 21st and 27th May 2012 and to recognise this Premier Apartments have made the following commitments:
- A special offer will be available to all guests of Premier Apartments staying with us during Green Tourism Week. Each guests will be given a unique code entitling them to a 10% discount off future stays when travelling by public transport. You must keep hold of your travel tickets and show them at check-in to get the discount but as an extra treat you’ll also receive a bag for life with some fair trade chocolate goodies!
- Premier Apartments will now donate any unclaimed lost property to a local charity.

Newcastle Weekend Breaks
We love Newcastle and its sister city across the Tyne, Gateshead. The rich heritage and striking architecture make it the perfect destination for a short break. Our favourite way to spend the day is taking in the views over the city and the 7 bridges from the Castle keep (next to the station and only 5 minutes walk from our apartments) before discovering the city’s vibrant nightlife. While you’re here pay a visit to the BALTIC art gallery, afterwards there are some fab places for lunch back across the Millennium Bridge in the old docklands.

Short breaks in Liverpool are always memorable. We’ve taken many trips to the city and always find something new to do. Renowned for its worldwide musical influence, maritime heritage and fantastic shopping! Take a stroll around Albert Docks at the Tate before splashing some cash in fashionable Liverpool ONE. The Beatles formed 50 years ago and the Fab Four exhibition recently expanded with more insights into the bands origin, their lives and iconic legacy.

Last week we were at the Business Travel Show at Earls Court, London and had a fantastic time. For the first time this year the whole Premier Apartments sales team attended the event for at least one day and it was a wonderful opportunity to meet familiar faces and make new connections.
Our stand was with the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers, I might be a little biased but we were the most popular! Together with 13 other association members of the ASAP the pavilion had a tremendous atmosphere showcasing the very best of the serviced apartment sector to the corporate market.
The whole event had a wonderful buzz and we’re already looking forward to next year!

Make your Paddys Day a weekend to remember! This year St Patricks Day is on a Saturday which, if you’re lucky enough to live in Ireland, means a lovely long weekend! If not its still the weekend so why enjoy an amazing weekend break in Ireland?
Dublin loves to celebrate and it doesn’t get any bigger than on 17th March. If you’re arriving on Friday I’d recommend trying to get to the Father Ted Show in the Laughter Lounge on Eden Quay that evening. As well as featuring characters from the show, there will also be a Lovely Girls Competition and a chance to sample Mrs Doyles Craggy Island Ice Tea (we bet you will, you will, you will have a cup of that!)
St Patricks Day in Dublin
At the heart of the festivities is the fabulous parade through the city centre. Starting from Parnell Square at noon, the colourful parade makes its way down O’Connell Street, over the bridge and along Dame Street. There is always a great crowd but we recommend arriving early to get the best views (avoid Westmoreland and O’Connell Streets if you can and try outside the Central Bank where its usually a bit quieter).
Afterwards everyone heads to the pubs for a pint or two. Locals might tell you Temple Bar is a bit touristy but on St Patricks Day you’ll find some of the best craic here with live music and great food. If you prefer a more authentic experience take your pick for the 1,000 other pubs in the city – you can’t really go wrong!
A useful phrase if you find yourself in an Irish speaking bar is “Pionta Guinness, le do thoil” (pronounced /pyunta Guinness leh duh hull/) or in English “a pint of Guinness please.”
Dublin Accommodation

Football is a major feature of the London 2012 Olympic programme with mens and womens international teams competing for the gold medals in soccer. The Olympic Football matches are spread across six grounds around the UK and we have serviced apartments near St James Park in Newcastle and Old Trafford in Manchester.

The home of Newcastle United, St James Park is the oldest and largest football stadium in the North East. There is sure to be a large crowd at the event so be sure to get there early for extra clues and a good starting point.
On the 11th, Sunday Morning there will be a peoples market which is in essence a market for the people made by the people. Peoples Park comes alive every Sunday with a multi cultural assortment of produce. The market boasts a very cultural dimension, with Japanese, Croatian, Lebanese, Italian, French, Chinese, Indian, Greek, Pakistani, Polish, Palestinian and Czech produce available, not to mention an abundance of Irish merchandise. It’s a fantastic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city to be able to relax and enjoy some homemade produce with something for all of the family to do
On The 13th of December, Monday Evening and night we have “Battle Of The Axe” a stand up mic show that presents the best in song and standup from Dublins finest. This event is in the centre of the city so it is sure to bring a wide variety in acts to perform.
